Battleground Poll: Obama vulnerable in 19 states that could swing to either party next year

President Barack Obama’s persistently low approval ratings for his handling of the economy and a growing sense that the country is on the wrong track could make him more vulnerable next year than current polls suggest, according to a new POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll.

 

……Worse, in a sample of the 19 states that could swing to either party next year, Obama’s job approval fell to 40 percent and his disapproval increased to 57 percent. These numbers are on par with Obama’s standing on the eve of last year’s Democratic shellacking in the midterm elections.
