Occupy Los Angeles protesters to shut downtown streets

LOS ANGELES- The Occupy Wall Street Movement and its sister protests are taking part in an international day of action on Thursday.
Protests were planned in Belgium, Germany, Spain and across the U.S.
In downtown Los Angeles, hundreds of protesters planned to shut down streets during the morning rush hour.

Occupy protesters arrested in New York City financial district

NEW YORK — Police arrested protesters who sat on the ground and blocked traffic into New York City’s financial district on Thursday, part of a day of mass gatherings in response to efforts to break up Occupy Wall Street camps nationwide.
Police in riot helmets hauled several protesters to their feet and handcuffed them at an intersection one block from Wall Street.
