Seattle unveils conceptual designs for proposed new NBA/NHL arena
The Seattle Times
In February 2012, Chris Hansen, a San Francisco hedge-fund manager who grew up in Seattle, announced a proposal to build a $490 million arena, to be funded in part by up to $200 million in public bonds. The deal went through city and county council review, and a revised version was approved by both councils on Oct. 16, 2012. The plan must pass an environmental review and an NBA team must be secured before the arena can break ground.
