Israel went to the polls on Tuesday and elected more women to the Knesset than ever before in Israeli history
The 19th Knesset will include 26 women, marking the highest percentage of females ever to be elected to Israel’s parliament.

Of the more than 5.65 million Israelis eligible to vote, some 3.6 million cast their ballots.
Estimated voter turnout 3 percent higher than in 2009
This is up from the previous 66.6 percent figure estimated by the Central Elections Committee Wednesday night, based on a sampling of 60 polling stations.
