US appeals court rules University of Texas can use race as factor in college admissions

US appeals court rules University of Texas can use race as factor in college admissions. The court ruled 2-to-1 on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.

The follows a 2013 order by the U.S. Supreme Court requesting the lower court to clarify its reasoning for previously ruling in favor of the policy.
